The Bergen County Psychiatric Emergency Screening Program "262-HELP", a program of Care Plus NJ, is seeking to hire motivated full-time and part-time Mental Health Screeners. If you are interested in gaining training and supervision in assisting individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and working within a multidisciplinary team, consider this exciting job opportunity. 262-HELP is a 24/7 program operated out of Bergen New Bridge Medical Center with the purpose of providing on-site and off-site, emergency mental health services in Bergen County.
Various schedules are available including afternoon, evenings, and overnights. All schedules include one weekend shift, and all FT/PT positions are union positions.

Provide case management services for clients who are currently homeless and maintaining temporary shelter placement at the Bergen County Housing, Health and Human Services Center (BCHHHSC).
You will provide administrative and clerical support to management, staff and clients, such as the following but not limited to: typing, record keeping maintenance (i.e. program, client charts), data entry, billing preparation, insurance verifications, generating reports, and consumer contact log tracking. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
You will provide in-home education and supportive services to new and expectant parents in Bergen and Hudson Counties, especially those families overburdened by stressors placing them at risk of child abuse and neglect.
You will be responsible and accountable for providing a variety of mental health treatment services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapeutic services.

You will serve as a member of a team that responds to individuals experiencing a non-life-threatening mental health and/or substance use disorder crisis when dispatched through the 988 Suicide Crisis Lifeline Call Center to adults in the Bergen and Passaic County communities on a 24-hour basis, 365 days a year. You will offer non-clinical assistance and support beyond resolving the immediate crisis, to stabilize and minimize the need for emergency service response, and serve as role model, mentor, and motivator to help support consumers in their path to recovery and achieve long term success.

You will supervise staff and provide substance use disorder treatment services to chemically dependent patients by conducting intake screenings and assessments, making recommendations for further diagnostic evaluations as a leader of a multidisciplinary team. You will demonstrate as a role model for and to staff in assisting with staff's ongoing education, training, and professional development.

You will provide support and assistance to the multidisciplinary staff to include, but not limited to, answering phone requests for service, responding to walk-in requests for service, returning written requests for services with brochures, etc., conducting phone and face-to-face screenings, completing intakes and the necessary documentation, making appointments for services, researching available resources, and providing support to group facilitators
You will provide housing search and procurement and case management services to Bergen County families and individuals who are homeless as defined by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
You will provide care management services for Bergen County residents that are at risk of homelessness that promote maintenance of permanent housing, independence, and stability in the community.

You will plan, direct, and supervise the Mobile Crisis Outreach Response Teams, who provide immediate therapeutic mobile crisis outreach response to adults in the Bergen and Passaic County communities on a 24-hour basis, 365 days a year, dispatched through the 988 Suicide Crisis Lifeline Call Center. As the supervisor, you will provide remote back up to the MCORT staff in the field for up to six (6) teams across a region at one time, consultation to the Crisis Workers when deemed necessary to determine the most appropriate intervention and if the MCORT believes a higher level of care is appropriate, and review and approve MCORT’s reports for quality assurance purposes.
